Nest #9 status and archive, 2013-14

This 6 year old female wears the band # 5176 and has laid 2 eggs in the Corral breeding group on the flats. This group is a bit exposed, but there are many other nests around to help protect from Skua attacks. She and her mate will have easy access to the water and we wish them good luck in rasing her chicks.

This pair has been named by Ellen Bergstom's class at Grayslake MS in Grayslake IL. The female is Opal and the male is Hershey.
