The Adelie penguin breeding season for us is over. We have packed our tents and headed home. Please join us next year as we select 10 new families to follow.

Nest #1 Status and Archives, 2014-2015

Nov 8, 2014. This male, banded #1050, has raised chicks the last two years and been in our study before. He has made a strong nest near the same spot as the last two years and we hope his mate will return. He is 13 years old, hatched in 2001 and returned to Cape Royds in 2003 as a 2 year old. Follow along as he raises his family. He has been name Blackie and his mate Snowy by the children in Vonda Dahl's class at Wing Public School, North Dakota. The chicks have been named Stormer and Icicle by Gina Fensterer's home school class in Colorado Springs, CO.
