Nest #4 status and archive, 2014-2015

 

This banded male #4627 is 8 years old, and with his mate successfully raised one chick last year. Their nest is in the Centerfield breeding group and near some large rocks for good protection against the Skuas. They have been named by Jan Patterson's class at Gaspe Elementary School in Gaspe, Quebec. His name is Percy and hers is Snowflake. Dec 19, the first egg has hatcehd. His name is Snea, adopted by Stefan Age Nielson's class in Denmark.

Percy was here on Nov 5th, he buildt his nest and waited for the mate to show up. We fist saw her on Nov 16th. Can you find him?

  Percy is on the nest with Snea and the egg still has not hatched! We are worried. Snowflake is on the nest with Snea. It is too long, the egg will not hatch. At some point it will roll out of the nest and become food for the Skuas. Percy is on the nest with Snea. This egg is lost, but it will be interesting to see how long it remains in the nest.
