Nest #5 status and archive, 2014-15

This banded male is 7 years old. He was sighted at Cape Royds last year, but failed to raise a family. This year he appeared in the same location as last year and has found a mate. Their nest is in the Uptown group and is an open area with little protection from the Skuas besides each other. They are Oreo and PeeWee named by the children in Ms LaCosta's 4th grade class at Parkview Elementary School, Lamar CO. The chicks have been named by Sandra Sullivan's class, they are Sunny and Shadow.

FIrst egg was sighted Nov 18th, 2014

First chick hatched Dec 25, the second chick on the 27th.

The Adelie penguin breeding season for us is over. We have packed our tents and headed home. Please join us next year as we select 10 new families to follow.
