Nest #6 status and archive, 2014-15
This banded male is 7 years old and has been seen in the colony before. The Hilton breeding group is a new location for him which shows that penguins do not always return to the same nest. We only know this because of our banding program. His mate showed us her two eggs on Nov 18th. The male is named Karlsson by the children in Jackie Rapp's class, Chicago IL. The mate has been named Momo by the children in Emily Perry's class at Thomas Viaduct MS in MD. The chicks have been named Flip Flop and Rocky by the children in Bev Greenbank's class in Cadishead PS, UK
The first egg was sighted on Nov 18th
Both chicks hatched between Dec 26 and 27th. We are glad to see this family get started.
