Nest #7 status and archive, 2014-15

Nov 8, 2014. This female, banded #4337, is 8 years old and was in our study last year. She raised chicks the last three years so we will hope she and her mate can do it again. They have a very good nest in the 'Center Field' nesting group close to the center where it will be hard for the Skuas to get to them. The female is named Emma and the male is Henry. They were named by the children at Episcopal Day School in Paris TX.

First egg: Nov 8, 2014. Second egg was seen on Nov 16, we do not know when it was laid.

First chick: Dec 13, Second chick Dec 14, 2014

The chicks have been named by the 4th grade classes at Scott Elementary School, Scott Air Forse Base, IL. They are Winter and Midnight.

Today we are tent-bound and will not go outside. Horizontal snow, 40mph winds and zero visibility. Brrrrrr. Emma is getting ready to leave and Henry has taken over the nest, 2 eggs. Emma is back on the nest! ! ! Emma is on the nest, 2 eggs.
