Nest #8 status and archive, 2015-16

This pair is new to our study. The female is 15 years old and was first seen in the colony in 2005. She has had several failed nests and a few successful nests in the last few 10 years. They have a good nest in the Lakeshore breeding group and we wish them luck in raising a family there. The male has been named Jackson by Lorraine Leo's class in Jackson School, Newton, MA. The female is Mordovia, named by Mikhail Timonin's students in the Tarkhanovo Secondary School, Republic of Mordovia, Russia.

Jan 2. We have marked this nest as a failed nest. The eggs are not going to hatch.

	These eggs will not hatch. Perhaps they were not fertilized, perhaps they got cold, there are many reasons. We have marked the nest as a failed nest and hope to see the birds back next year to try agoin.		This concludes our Nest Check for the 2015-16 Adelie Penguin Breeding season at Cape Royds.
