Nest #9 status and archive, 2014-15

The banded male is 7 years old and has been seen in the colony before very near where he decided to build his nest this year. We frist saw his mate on Nov 8 and first sighted eggs on Nov 19th. The nest is in the Centerfield breeding group and near some big rocks so they should be protected from the Skuas. The female has been named Carrie by the VASA explorers in Ms Given's Class in Fresno, CA. The male has been named Buddy by Sandy Sullivan's class at Kuss Middle School,Fall River, MA.

The first egg was sighted on Nov 19, 2014

Cocoa has joined a group of young chicks, we are not sure where he is, we will check tomorrow.

The Adelie penguin breeding season for us is over. We have packed our tents and headed home. Please join us next year as we select 10 new families to follow.
