Nest #9, 2019-20
Banded Bird # 5197 - Male
This bird is 12 years old and was in our study the last 2 years. They were not able to raise a chick in 2017-18, but raised 2 chicks in 2018-19. Go HERE to see what happened in both those seasons. This year they have built a nest in the same place as last year and the first egg was seen on the SAME date as last year. They are in the Cliff breeding group, just above the water with lots of neighbors to help fend off the Skuas. Lets see how this breeding season turns out for them.
This year they are named Jimin and Peppa from the 7th graders ar Thomas Viaduct MS, in Maryland. Their teachers are Melanie Poknis and Nafisa Reza.
The chicks names are Shrek and Glacier. They were adopted by the students in J.William Hooper's class at the Charles Ellis Montessori Academy in Savannah, GA.

Jan 2, 2020. This nest has failed. I do not know what happened to Shrek, but I believe he was taken by the Skua, it is a sad day.
